(2012) Designed, developed and maintained the 2012 version of Dice.se, using Wordpress as content management system. With little text based content to share, but a lot of beautiful images from the games, I made a layout that embraced this type of content.
The landing page featured an animated showcase of our latest releases.
Subpages typically featured a left sidebar containing text or information, and again focusing mostly on a fullscreen background image that illustrated the content. To break up the design, some pages used the sidebar as a navigation, with an accordian menu for grouping long lists.
People pages with interviews and photos made in-house. The sidebar picked up a suitable color from the photo behind, which worked extra well for people and games pages and made them personal and unique.
On the Iphone 5 in 2012. The mobile view changed the sidebar to start from the bottom two thirds and scrolled up over the background image. The whole site look like a simple design, but it featured quite a few tricks and uses of the latest web technologies at the time.
A super fun project done for a company I love, with such a large pool of assets to pick from, and a target audience of tens of thousands of people visiting the website every month looking for game information or job openings.
