30 Year Anniversary

As summer approached and me moving back to where I grew up, I realized that it was three whole decades ago that I graduated and started working in the “big city”. I posted the following about this on my LinkedIn.

This month, 30 years ago, I started my first full-time job in the games industry!

Since then I’ve been fortunate to have worked on everything between small team games, to blockbuster IP’s like BATTLEFIELD, STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT, and MIRROR’S EDGE. From games controlled by landline phones, to consoles that hadn’t even been released yet.

And for a period during these years I also explored other areas of entertainment, making multimedia productions, educational games, websites, and websites that were games. But eventually I found myself back home in the video game industry.

In most recent years I worked on THE FINALS — a game I still play almost daily in my spare time. And this fall we’re releasing ARC RAIDERS — a project I’m very proud to be part of, and I can’t wait to see it out for real in the world.

All these projects have a thing in common: YOU. Maybe you’re a rendering wizard, a concept artist, a producer, or a professor in paleontology — talking to you, working with you, learning from you, have been the true highlight of my career. I never dreamt I’d get to work with such a wide spectrum of talented people.

So whether we worked side by side, or our only connection is that you’ve enjoyed something I’ve been a part of making — THANK YOU for being part of the past 30 years!

And here’s to another 15… Oh, who am I kidding — here’s to another 30! 🍻 Cheers!
